The greatest success was the new friendships!

It was summer of 2025.  I was back to living in my home of Pocatello, ID after spending two years living in busy downtown Philadelphia, PA (that is a story for a different time).  It took me a bit to get my stride back, but I welcomed the change in pace after living on the east coast.  Not to mention how great it was to be back under the same roof with my sweet husband!

Ahead of me was the challenge of rebuilding my Pilates studio after taking a two year hiatus.  I had come home from Philly to an empty nest and new season in life. New seasons always bring me to a place of prayer and pondering.  More than anything I want to live each one in a way that brings glory to Jesus Christ.  I began to focus on how my Pilates studio could make a real difference in people's lives and let the fluff fall away.  That is when the first thoughts of Pilates by the Pool began to take shape.  The idea of inviting women to my own home to practice Pilates around my own backyard pool took root and grew.  I wanted to create a comfortable place for women and girls of all fitness levels to share their journey together.

So, in the late spring of 2026 I put out a few flyers and created a few posts to see where it would go.  What a success!  I have to be honest, I was surprised by the interest.  Before long I had more than thirty women signed up to participate.  Class was offered Monday/Wednesday 6:30am and Tuesday/Thursday 7:30am for six weeks.  Pay as you go, no pressure, just come when you can.

I was so pleased with the mix of women that showed up.  Some with friends, a few brave souls all on their own.  We circled the pool with our mats each morning, and through smiles, sweat, and laughter worked our way through 60 minutes of real time together. A few were Pilates pros but most were brand new!  There was so much progress made over those six weeks, but the best part was the friendships that were made.  The conversations had and relationships built were the greatest success of all.

I am so grateful for Pilates by the Pool!  I think I was the most blessed of all.  Thank you ladies!
